October 4 Well, our wedding was wonderful. :-) Sorry for such a late update to this, and sorry also that we don't yet have online pictures to share with everyone. They are forthcoming; promise! We don't have the Internet at our apartment, nor do we have a great deal of time to use it elsewhere. So, updates will have to wait. Maybe by then we'll know what to do with this wedding website. ;-)

The wedding was beautiful, and everything went off without a hitch. If you could come, we're glad you did. If you couldn't, sorry you couldn't.

September 6 We now have our own apartment! We still have just under two weeks before we'll actually be living there, but we have our living room and bedroom painted, as well as some stuff moved in already. Oh, and we have ketchup, too.

August 31 Final preparations are underway, and most details have been taken care of nicely. Tomorrow, Rick and Alicia sign for their new apartment and will be able to start painting and moving stuff in as soon as this weekend. Their hopes are to be as completely moved in as possible by the wedding date, with the only thing remaining to be the whole "living there" thing.

Alicia's bridal shower was a great success a few weeks ago, with her receiving a great many Pampered Chef kitchen implements. Now, it is hoped that all of this stuff will fit into our tiny li'l apartment kitchen!

The bride-to-be is Alicia McLane, 21-year-old graphic arts and photography enthusiast from Indianapolis, Indiana. She is currently attending the Herron School of Art. Alicia is a committed Christian and has been involved in one way or another with the church for most of her life. She is a member of an independent Baptist church in Indianapolis. Her parents are Charlene and Brian McLane.

The groom-to-be is Rick Beckman, 22-year-old from Connersville, Indiana. He is the toy department manager at the Connersville Walmart and currently holds an associates degree in theology. Rick is also a committed Christian (for how can two walk together lest they be agreed [Amos 3:3]?), and maintains an online Christian community of over 200 members, with hopes of being further involved in the ministry of Jesus Christ in time. Rick attends a local independent Baptist church in Connersville. His parents are Brenda Beckman & fiancé Brian Eddy and Rich Beckman & step-mother Debby.

Alicia & Rick will be united in marriage at 2:30pm (GMT-0500) on Saturday, September 17, 2005, at John Wesley Free Methodist Church. The ceremony will be officiated by Pastor Brent Floyd of Eagledale Baptist Church.

In August of 2002, Alicia surfed onto an old website of Rick's. It wasn't much, but it did contain his profession of the faith, a profession which was in line with hers. Wanting to encourage him, Alicia sent Rick a brief email. A few emails eventually became long chat sessions on ICQ, the phone, MSN Messenger, and in time, in person. The relationship took its course from there, becoming sealed November 8, 2002. Now, nearly three years later, the relationship is being sealed once again, this time in the bonds of marriage.
